There is the strangest sense of longing within me
A cold, merciless feeling that latches onto my mind
Tearing away at my joy, until there are only
Shreds
Shreds of hope, shreds of memories
Remnants of a long forgotten happiness
This desolation rips open old wounds
Then adds to the collection
Bringing back the sickening feeling of a monster
Gnawing at my stomach
It burns through my soul, decimating anything in its path
Leaving me with the charred remains of unused and unwanted
Love
And a renewed awareness of the violent forlornment in my heart
That keeps my wondering,
"Will it ever end?"
Hand in hand
We cross this barren landscape
The night sky looms overhead
Masking us with a blanket of starlight
The constellations wink playfully at us
As if they laugh at a joke we are unaware of
Hand in hand
The moon keeps watch over us
Silently smiling down at us
As we travel these unknown lands
Knowing not where we go
Or where we are headed
Just somewhere that isn't here
Together we walk
Hand in hand
To a new beginning
It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles, CA hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out
